Bulkhead & Dock Service in Normandy Beach

Normandy Beach is a quiet barrier-island neighborhood on the Barnegat Bay side of the peninsula, straddling the Toms River and Brick lines. Its bay-side lots sit on lagoons and the open bay, and their bulkheads hold the back-bay yards against the water.

Barrier-Island Bulkheads

A barrier-island lot has the ocean on one side and the bay on the other, and the bay-side bulkhead is what keeps the yard from washing back into the lagoon. On these narrow island lots the walls take the tide, the summer wake, and the winter ice, and the common calls are a leaning wall and a tie-back that has corroded through.

Sandy Country

This stretch of the barrier was hit hard in 2012, and many bay-side walls were scoured or overtopped. We rebuild them in vinyl sheet pile, often with the cap raised to the island's post-Sandy elevation, and we handle the dock and lift at the same time.

Permits Here

Waterfront work in Normandy Beach runs through the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, CAFRA, and a tidelands license. We handle the permit side for what we build.
