Barnegat Bay Bulkhead (732) 555-0164

Bulkhead & Dock Service in Shelter Cove, Toms River

Shelter Cove is a waterfront community in Toms River with open, north-facing views across Barnegat Bay and a bay beach at Shelter Cove Park. The lots here sit on the bay and its coves, and their bulkheads face more open water than the sheltered inner lagoons.

Open-Bay Exposure

Facing the open bay means facing wind-driven chop and summer wake on top of the tide, which scours a toe and works anchors harder than protected lagoon water. Shelter Cove walls need the toe and anchoring built for that exposure, and on some stretches a riprap sill holds a bank better than a vertical wall alone.

Rebuild and Storm Work

The open exposure also means storm damage. We rebuild scoured and overtopped walls in vinyl sheet pile sized for the bay, rather than patching them back to the standard that failed, and we do the dock in the same trip.

Permits Here

Waterfront work in Shelter Cove runs through the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection and a tidelands license. We handle the permit side for what we build.
